In fact what I said was that I hope the courts conduct a thorough investigation. I would advocate a long jail sentence for the parents and repentance would have no bearing. I believe the Bible (as well as human decency) would compel me to protect this child and if it is found that Rifqa's parents are guilty I pray the courts respond accordingly.<br /><br />The point of my argument (which I believe you may have missed) is that Christians should look to the Bible for guidance and I believe we can find it in the Rifqa Bary case. I believe what we will find in the Bible a need to discover the truth before jumping to conclusions and the path to follow once the truth is uncovered.<br /><br />As for what I said about honor thy parents: that was aimed at those who mishandled this girle when they baptized a minor without her parent's permission.
